SAFCC Helpline 210-877-9067

San Antonio, TX — October 22, 2026 — The San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition (SAFCC) is proud to announce it has received a $5,000 grant from the Alice Kleberg Reynolds Foundation to expand Spay/Neuter Services in Bexar County.

Funding from the Alice Kleberg Reynolds Foundation will enable SAFCC to expand the capacity of our weekly feral cat clinic (FCC) so more cats can receive spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccinations and preserve limited space with our partner clinics. Grant funds will also strengthen our volunteer Trapper Team, allowing us to assist more residents who cannot perform trapping themselves due to physical limitations.

This investment supports an integrated community program rather than a single service. Our helpline identifies colonies needing assistance, trained volunteers work with residents to humanely trap and transport cats, our veterinary team performs sterilization and vaccination, and our adoption program provides placement opportunities for kittens and friendly cats whenever possible. Together, these interconnected programs create a sustainable system that addresses cat overpopulation at its source while supporting the people who care for community cats throughout Bexar County.

“We are deeply grateful to the Alice Kleberg Reynolds Foundation for this generous investment in our mission,” said Amy Oakley, President of the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition.

Founded in 2004, the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the population of free-roaming cats through humane Trap-Neuter-Return, low-cost spay/neuter assistance, education, and community outreach. Since its founding, SAFCC has trained more than 15,000 residents in humane community cat management and has become one of South Texas’s leading resources for community cat caretakers.
