Our most recent adoption event resulted in one successful adoption. As soon as the door closed for one cat, another opened immediately after. A suspicious box was left at one of our partnered PetSmart locations with an abandoned kitten inside.

You may have seen our post from Saturday about this kitten. It’s ulcerated eye received medical attention and it is being kept with one of our fosters.
Even as we are working tirelessly to get these cats off the streets, abandonment continues to happen at any time and anywhere. Even abandoned cats who are not spayed/neutered contribute to the very issue we wake up every day to help solve.

The $51K we won with your help from the Ancira Gives Back Giveaway helped take our organization out of the red. The truth is, our organization finds itself in the red every month unless we are awarded a grant or receive a very generous donation. Before we picked up the check in June, we were $25,459 in the red in April, and $22,880 in the red in May. Being one of the three lucky winners helped offset these negative balances. Whenever we receive support, it goes towards areas of greatest need including but not limited to these top 5 programs that always need support:

Your ongoing support contributes to everything that we do. We want to continue to be a resource for our community, but we do struggle to keep up with the demands of a very overpopulated city of community cats. Kitten season taking up so much of the year in South Texas especially, is another reason our mission needs undying community support to achieve.

Our fundraising announcements, medical case donation posts, and events are continued efforts to keep our organization alive. The last thing we want is to make our community feel that our victories because of their support are being overlooked and unappreciated. We know everyone is in this to help the well-being of cats and kittens, but proper funding is how we are able to keep going. Be sure to check out our upcoming events to see how you, friends, and family can continue to support community cats!
