SAFCC Helpline 210-877-9067

We hosted our very first in-person feral shelter workshop with the Girl Scouts of Troop 80. For their community service hours, our future leaders wanted to give back to the cats by building Styrofoam shelters for cats to seek shelter as we approach Winter. On Christmas week last year, we were in dire need of these shelters, 100 of them to be exact, and these girls have helped us get ahead of the game and will hopefully inspire more community members to build these shelters at home. For additional hours, the Girl Scouts made cat toys for our adoptable cats to play with until they are welcomed into the loving homes of their future families. We appreciate the work of the Troop 80 Girl Scouts and we know that community cats will need these shelters soon!

Troop 80 has put a kick-start to the Feral Shelter Program and we will need extra space for Styrofoam boxes and straw. If you have storage space close to the Bandera and 410 area that you can donate, we can use your help with storing the shelters until they are requested by the community for the winter.

Thank you Troop 80 for all your work!
